  • Askold S. Lozynskyi: How important is the legal work of Borys Vitoshinskyi
On the occasion of the celebration of 100 years of the Ukrainian Free University during the online conference, under the influence of the speeches of the professors, I wondered about the main topics of legal studies of the next generations. In the legal, or rather democratic world, various branches of law, constitutional, criminal, contractual, tort, administrative, are important and provided for according to the capabilities of the institutions. However, some branches are quite neglected not only in the academic world, but also in the practical world, and perhaps the time has come, in particular in view of the new communication possibilities and the consequences of transparency, to pay special attention to terminology, ethics, justice and international law, the protection of human rights and implementation of basic norms of international behavior. Regarding the first, the terminology of the rule of law has long been ... Read more

  • Maria Pryshlyak: The Ukrainian Free University has been operating for 100 years
MUNICH. - 100 years ago, Mykhailo Hrushevskyi, co-author of the first draft of the charter of the Ukrainian Free University (UUU), wrote that the task of the university was first of all nation-building - in other words, the consolidation of Ukrainian identity and national consciousness, as well as the integration of Ukrainian education, science and culture into the world. During its hundred years of existence, UVU faithfully fulfilled this task. UVU became a pioneer of Ukrainian science. In Prague, in addition to teaching general disciplines - archeology, history, geography, history of Roman literature, Greek mythology, jurisprudence, pedagogy, organic chemistry, political economy, foreign languages, etc., UVU actually developed the first purely Ukrainian educational programs and conducted courses on Ukrainian historiography and source studies, history of Ukrainian art, ... On Saturday, November 16, with the efforts of the Foundation of the Ukrainian Free University (FUU), the Academy of St. Yura and the Ukrainian People's House in New York, an extremely important event took place - in a scientific and educational sense. The event, dedicated to honoring the memory of the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933, consisted of two parts: a scientific report by a well-known historian, prof.
